Concerning the sighting of a wolf nearby Canazei (Fassa valley)

Concerning the sighting of a wolf nearby Canazei (Fassa valley), the President of the Province of Trento and the Province Councilor for Agriculture, Forests, Hunting and Fishing, Michele Dallapiccola, announced that the Forestry agents are monitoring the area. In the meantime, a request to use rubber bullets towards the wolf pack as a deterrent has been immediately sent to the Italian Ministry of Environment and to ISPRA (the Superior Institute for the Protection of the Environment). The veterinary Service, after the inspection of the images of the wolf, hypothesizes that the animal is affected by mange, disease which typically affects the chamois in that area and which is transmittable to Canids.

The Councilor Michele Dallpiccola explains that the Province of Trento is waiting for instructions by the Italian Ministry of Environment about the better thing to do with that individual.
